Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
