Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.
"Adequate time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he could not remember "any day without laughter".
"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a distinct essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.
The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
